Job Description
About the role
As the Training Officer, you will ensure all new and existing employees, labour hire workers and drivers across our VIC, TAS, SA and NT sites are compliant with skills-based training as per company framework. You will develop and deliver the training schedule.
By performing these responsibilities, you will help build a highly skilled and knowledgeable operational team, enhancing customer satisfaction.
Extensive state-wide and interstate travel is an element of this role, so you will be comfortable with planning your schedule autonomously.
You will be responsible for:
Contributing to maintaining current and standardized training by staying abreast of national and local regulations and broader industry trends.
Ensuring all relevant training documentation is completed and stored per company policy and matrix.
Training new and existing drivers in the use of the relevant vehicle and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and driving standards.
Track and assess competency through training and evaluation to ensure performance meets set standards.
Conduct learning needs analysis to identify performance gaps and design tailored learning solutions to improve business outcomes.
Designing and developing training content to support continuous learning.
Manage competency profile assignments, to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of employee progress.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
You will come from a transport or similar background with previous driver training experience with a Cert IV – Training and Assessment qualification or equivalent.
Proven background in delivering training and learning to an operational workforce, coupled with driving experience in the industry across a range of transport combinations.
Dangerous Goods and/or MC license is highly regarded.
Ability to deliver quality training experiences.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey and explain information both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrable success in influencing through collaboration and establishing professional and personalized relationships by seeking input, offering feedback and providing continuous support to the business.
Highly developed accuracy in reporting, ensuring data integrity.
