About the role
Supagas is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead branch operations. You will manage day-to-day logistics, deliveries, inventory, and staff, ensuring the branch achieves budgets and company objectives - all while keeping safety and compliance front of mind.
Specifically, you will:
Drive and champion the business’s “Think SAFE, Work SAFE, Live SAFE” safety ethos across the branch, ensuring all team members, visitors and contractors actively identify and report risks, hazards, near‑misses and incidents.
Lead, facilitate and participate in safety risk assessments (e.g. RFSR, HAZOP, MOC, HAZID, Design Reviews), and ensure changes to plant, equipment or processes follow the defined Management of Change (MOC) procedure.
Ensure all site personnel (staff, visitors, contractors) operate in full compliance with permits, Permit To Work (PTW) systems, induction/training requirements, the Integrated Management System (IMS) and all relevant industry standards (for example AS1596, AS4332, ADG C7).
Oversee branch performance, including achieving budgets, margin and sales targets, efficient logistics, fleet and inventory management, and continuous improvement of branch processes.
Build and foster a customer-focused service culture by recruiting, training, mentoring, and coaching your team while embedding teamwork, loyalty, and a sales-growth .
Maintain regulatory and compliance oversight, ensuring adherence to HSEQ regulations, LPG/cylinder gas codes, competition and consumer laws, and fleet/fatigue/transport compliance (including Chain of Responsibility).
Ensure preventive maintenance, fleet/vehicle pre‑starts, yard/site cleanliness, asset security and audit tasks are completed on time to uphold safety, quality and service standards.
Monitor, report, and act on all aspects of branch performance, including reporting, debtor control, staffing costs, and planning for branch growth and resource allocation.
Desired Skills and Experience
You possess:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management or supervisory role, ideally in maintenance, operations, or a similar environment.
Current Forklift (FL) licence would be advantageous, along with relevant educational qualifications.
Articulate and personable communication skills, with the ability to establish productive, professional relationships across all levels of the business and branch.
Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and achieve desired outcomes.
Calm under pressure, able to apply reason, weigh all perspectives and make sound decisions.
