About the role

This is a key leadership opportunity to join a growing national business in a senior Transport Operations leadership role, overseeing LPG and Industrial Gas Distribution operations across safety, operational performance, commercial outcomes and customer service delivery.

Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead and support Logistics Coordination and Administration teams while driving a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

You will play a critical role in setting and implementing distribution strategy, ensuring the business continues to meet operational, financial, and customer service targets while maintaining strong regulatory and HSE compliance standards.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external transport partners, you will drive improvements across scheduling, fleet utilisation, contractor performance, freight analytics, and last-mile delivery operations to ensure safe and reliable supply at the lowest practical landed cost.

This role is predominantly based in Kwinana, with regular work across Welshpool and other Perth metro locations.

Playing a pivotal role in the business's distribution network, this role will be responsible for:

  • Champion a strong HSE culture through visible leadership and accountability
  • Lead and manage transport and distribution contractor relationships and commercial agreements
  • Drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives across distribution operations
  • Oversee fleet suitability, maintenance scheduling, and transport performance outcomes
  • Support budgeting, reporting, freight analytics, and strategic operational planning
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Operations teams to improve service delivery and market growth opportunities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams while fostering a high-performance culture
  • Identify and implement operational technologies and process improvements to support future business growth

Desired Skills and Experience

Our minimum requirements for this role are: 

  • This is a pivotal role requiring a manager with at least 5 years’ experience within the transport or logistics industry.  
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to achieve the company's operating objectives through a proven track record of delivering results both strategically and operationally. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce/ Supply Chain/ Logistics is advantageous. 
  • Knowledge of the industry and products and Dangerous Goods transport is desirable.  
  • Significant commercial experience and business acumen gained in logistics environments.  
  • Setting performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution related functions. 
  • Process driven, analytical and methodical.
