About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing a diverse range of projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects involving the development of existing and new gas depots as well as the design and installation of gas filling equipment.

You will however have a varied role working with Supagas’ technical and operation teams as well as site contractors on other projects.  This is a fulltime role.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop project plans including scope of work, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop comprehensive P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings, equipment general arrangement plans (GA), site layouts and other application design documents to ensure suitability and compliance.
  • Manage the Supagas engineering drawing portfolio, including coordinating and managing internal and external drafters to create new and update existing site drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models. Ensure engineering drawings are accurate, current, and maintained in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
  • Liaise with local councils and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals.
  • Liaise with internal and external designers to develop construction drawings.
  • Supervise and coordinate on-site activities, ensuring that projects adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Liaise with contractors and branch managers to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Implement stringent quality control measures to ensure that projects comply with industry-specific standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all contractors operate with all Supagas safety rules and permits.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve quality issues, employing industry best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer, preferably in the gas industries
  • Sound knowledge of construction, LPG and Industrial gas properties, pipeline and vessel installations, P&ID`s, regulatory matters, and standards
  • Hands-on experience with LPG and CO₂ systems, including storage, distribution, vaporisation, and associated plant infrastructure, is highly regarded. Experience delivering industrial gas projects from design through to commissioning will be highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for engineering drafting is preferred. Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor is highly regarded.
  • Ability to lead and manage different engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to navigate the regulatory and approval process with local councils.
  • Self-motivated and dedicated to achieving project goals.
  • Must have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software package
