Job Description

About the role

As the Logistics Coordinator at Supagas, you'll play a pivotal role in producing distribution schedules to meet Supagas’ daily demand for LPG and Industrial Gases, while optimising processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.

You will:

  • Actively engage in a positive safety culture
  • Understand and manage delivery schedules in line with Supagas’ fatigue management policies and procedures
  • Plan, create and manage the allocated delivery schedule, monitor and track progress of deliveries according to the schedule created
  • Ensure that your schedules meet internal efficiency targets, whilst achieving optimum service delivery to our customers
  • Liaise and communicate with company drivers, transport sub-contractors and customers daily
  • Monitor operational KPI’s for improvement
  • Drive and implement improved scheduling opportunities
  • Monitor customer data for accuracy

Desired Skills and Experience

You possess:

  • Prior experience in scheduling or transport industry (desirable)
  • Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level
  • Precise attention to detail
  • A good understanding of Basic Fatigue Management (BFM)
  • Ability to handle changing situations under pressure and make optimal logistic decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, engage with all levels across the business, and work collaboratively within teams
  • A keen interest in and drive to seek out improvements that support business objectives
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Ability to think strategically and commercially, with both a creative and analytical approach
  • Adaptability and flexibility to staffing plans and schedules
  • Approachability and accessibility, with a willingness to support and guide team members
  • Customer-centric approach
